NF-SOOC-2015 Day 29: St. Nicholas' Church, Loudéac by vignouse

NF-SOOC-2015 Day 29: St. Nicholas' Church, Loudéac

Making the most of the autumn weather, Mrs S and I had a ride out on the motorbike this afternoon. One of the places we visited was the market town of Loudéac - this is a view of the interior of the parish church of St. Nicholas.

The church was built by a local entrepreneur, Jean Gueno du Chesne. The first stone was laid 24 September 1758 and the church was completed and opened in 1765.

View on black for maximum impact...

This is my twenty-ninth and penultimate image for NF-SOOC-2015 - you can read about it here - http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/26200/back-to-basics-nf-sooc-2015.
This particular picture really gets the glitter attached to the inner holy sanctum part of the church. love it.

Wonderful sense of history in this sacred space.... the red and gold at the end really draws the eye, right down the lines of pews. Beautiful.

Particularly like the statues of local saints. It helps us all to identify with a faith life as a key part to a well rounded life.
