Negative Space - the Making Of...

Mrs S's Get Pushed challenge this week is negative space; seeing the moonlight outside, she decided to try a photo of the top of the high-voltage power distribution pole silhouetted against the night sky. I snuck out into the lane behind her but apart from the pale glow of the night sky, the rest of the image in my viewfinder was completely black... except for the tips of her left-hand fingers lit occasionally by the focus assist light on her Olympus. I focussed on this dim glow and voilà the result after a few quick manipulations in LR... surprisingly sharp too for 1/3 sec hand-held.
That really is quite sharp for 1/3 sec.

Very cool, a bit of surreal for the cold, nocturne tones.

Did she publish hers yet. I am working through my feed but loving how you are getting mileage out of capturing her doing her challenges.

You sure have steady hands

Well done. Just enough blue light to get a good shot.

@adi314 Yes really handheld... and neither the camera nor the lens are stabilised - I guess I got lucky ☺

Profiteering? It was a fully charged day, complicated by the fact that we'd forgotten we were going to a friend for lunch before my rdv re cataracts. With 30 mins drive to destination, megaspeed change of clothing, set off and after 10 mins shrieked '*?!* Have left pan on the hob, heating what we were going to have for lunch!' Rapid volte face, turnaround trip home to rescue food and enact fire prevention...and off we went again. Had 40 mins, left for rdv, returned afterwards for cheese, dessert and coffee. Phew! How fortunate we are to have M-S as a trusty, all weather friend!

Well done, Richard. Hand held for 1/3 sec with that ISO! Impressive control.

And interesting, Richard...

AH what I call a split personality day - when you are planning to do two things on the same day and suddenly it dawns on you and panic ensues.
