@fbailey Thanks again. To follow up my yesterday's comments on B&W - I knew that I this was going to be a B&W image but the dynamic range of the camera didn't match what I was seeing with my eye so it needed a little processing help in LR. I wanted it dark and moody with deep shadows but detail and texture in the highlights. I underexposed by about a stop and a half so that I could bring out the highlight detail whilst still leaving the shadows relatively dark... work mainly for the Shadow and Highlight Sliders with some trimming of the exposure to balance it all out. It takes longer to write than it did to do! Hope this is helpful.
@vignouse Thanks very much indeed for your help. I use Elements 11 and recently found an article in an old magazine re achieving pretty dramatic effects in b&w but with a lot of dodging and burning involved. I need to find the right sort of image to try it on. I am learning much more than I thought I would here - thanks once more!
