Soldier Beetle (Rhagonycha Fulva)... by vignouse

Soldier Beetle (Rhagonycha Fulva)...

...perched on a Common Ragwort (Senecio Jacobaea) flower. Ragwort is poisonous - especially for horses - but these little beetles soldier on regardless (sorry!).

So that brings my ad-hoc macro bug week to a close... what next I wonder?
Again a surprising amount of detail!

good pun! great macro of the beetle and pretty flower. I've often read about ragwort...but never knew what it looked like.
