Paimpont 2018: Day 7 - Voeux du Maire

Each commune in France has a day at the beginning of the year when the Mayor holds a reception for everyone in the commune. He reprises the year just finished, announces the projects for the year to come and thanks all those who have contributed to the work of the commune. Then we all drink lots of champagne and eat too many petits-fours - I like this bit the best! Here is Alain with his two principal assistants, Didier and Dominique.

@jack4john National politics in France leave much to be desired but at local level it's about running the commune, politics take a back seat... and yes, we elect the Mayor.
