Staying with the Lensbaby for a day or so in order that I might re-acquire the method of using it. I couldn't resist trying it out on Paimpont Abbey, which is certainly my most posted subject.
Adds a bit of variety to your project and must be fun to do - I think you need that after a few years of posting a photo every day. I've been contemplating investing 50€ in a Lomography Experimental Kit, and I think I will go for it now.
Mysterious indeed, Richard. The tram door photo was just a bit of fun - and was not a very good photo at all - Most of the blur was created in post processing. Sorry, but I've deleted it - I welcome the lensbaby discussion but I'd prefer it to be about a photo that I actually like and value. I did like the colours.
@jocasta Joy, I don't quite know what to say, except that I admire your integrity. My point wasn't really about the merits or demerits of deliberate blur in photos but why an awful lot of LB photos are completely blurred which seems to negate the reason for buying one. You've posted some excellent blurred photos in the past and they all have one thing in common... they have people in them. We can't see exactly what they look like or what they are doing so it is up to our own imagination to complete the story.
I like the effect here but most of the time I am not a fan of lensbaby. But I think a lot of that has to do with subject matter and composition. Here both are enhanced by the effect not destroyed by it (yes, I think most people who use lensbaby end up ruining their picture with it- but that's just mho!). Very dreamy!
Perhaps I should invest in one.
Keep posting!
