Mrs S came back from her early evening dog-walk to say that somebody had abandoned a cat and two kittens in the nearby school-bus shelter. I went back a couple of hours later to find no mother cat and not two but three kittens huddled in a corner of the wet bus shelter still damp from the rain... as was the bowl of food that had been abandoned with them.
Here they are in our garage being fed and watered by Mrs S... we can't keep them but we will find them homes.
@dianen We'll keep an eye out for the mother and rescue her too if possible. I went with the intention of bringing them all home but it was already dusk and, had they been left, the kittens would certainly have been taken by a fox in the night as they have young of their own to feed.
i guess it is a situation that has happened many many times in many corners of the world. It makes me sad on many levels....but mostly that someone just abrogated their responsibilities and walked away. Good luck with it all.
Oh I am so glad that you have rescued them. I'm sure they would not have survived the night with critters out there. They are so orevioud. I'm sure you will find homes for them.
The bw one is saying "Really while I am in the litter box!" A virtual friend in Texas had to knock holes in her wall to find an abandoned Kitty. Ah spring. As I said to her it beats bats.
You both are good souls and am sending virtual hugs. Hope that they are adopted soon. The little grey seems to interested in what you are doing or maybe is the 'ring' leader?
@carolmw The mother was seen this morning by a neighbour over half a kilometre away from where they were dumped... we have made several tours of the area to no avail. For the latest on the kitties, see Mrs S's post for today - https://365project.org/s4sayer/365/2018-04-30
