Paimpont 2018: Day 139 - Stony Stare
A stone carving hanging on the east end wall of our house... I like to photograph this at least once a year to show how erosion is slowly changing his features - and to find different ways of capturing it.

There's such a strong sense of pathos in this sculpture. It makes me wonder what the backstory is. Technically wonderful, as always.

He has an unusual face! Not very European, I would think! And a sad expression!

A strong sculpture with such a pensive look. Great in black and white. I love the angle and the light.

What a gift to have such a marvelous work of art at home. The tones and patina give this figure true strength of character. The DoF is wonderful.

Beautiful play of light across the face adds a feeling of life and emotion to the stone image.
