...killed by the mistletoe which dies in its turn.

Usual advice applies...

Cool silhouette. To bad about the trees.

The 3rd tree from the left looks in a very poor state...whilst the evening clouds are almost ethereal.

Always puzzles me... how is it in the mistletoe's interest to kill its host? Nice shot though. You did better than me.. I went through a whole roll of 36 exp film this afternoon and the Pentax LX told me that I'd reached 36 when i could no longer wind on! Got home and found no film inside even tho' I'd stuck a reminder on the back that it was Portra 400. In the woods too with gorgeous late afternoon raking light peaking through the foliage! It's getting worse!

I didn't know about mistletoe's killing its host. It makes for a stark beauty in the image.

Impressive gestures of the leafless trees. The sky fits in well and of course, the b&w.

@vignouse -- oh, now I get it. I guess I've never seen how mistletoe grows. But I do see squirrel nests in empty trees. I wasn't sure how the mistletoe figured into this scene except that it killed something. Thx for explanation.,

@koalagardens These are all that remain of a plantation of a 100+ trees... I suppose that the plot will be left fallow.

I see the remains of the mistletoe. I didn't realize it killed the trees it inhabits.
