@joansmor I did warn you that it wasn't a carry round lens! Don't put the weight of the lens on the lens mount - support the whole thing with the lens collar. You'll like what it does for your nature photography I think.
@vignouse I thought that might be the way after I thought about it for a while. This is for my birds. But I am thinking I might be able to take pictures from the car with it resting in on the open window. Good too for catching pictures of Two when she doesn't know I am doing it. It is going to have a learning curve I think. I also wonder if I need a better tripod then I have.
@joansmor It does need a sturdy tripod to give of its best... and to support it safely. Remember, at full zoom on your camera the focal length is effectively 900mm, so compared to a 'standard' 50mm any movement will be multiplied by a factor of 18 so the closer you can stay to a shutter speed of 1/1000 sec, the better.
