Today Mrs S and I spent the morning in the nearby town of Ploërmel where Friday is market day. The day began with a heavy frost and there was a biting wind so the number of market stalls and the number of customers were somewhat reduced compared to a normal Friday. All the regulars were there though, including this knife-sharpener offering the same service in the same way as his grandfather might have done a hundred years earlier. I do like tradition.
Remouleur = Knife Grinder
Cannage Chaise = Cane-seat chairs recovered
Affutage = Sharpening
