... or, rather most of the day getting there and back! Brittany was effectively gridlocked today as most of the major routes and intersections were blocked with huge tractors and trailers by farmers demonstrating against the low prices for meat and dairy products forced on them by the supermarket chains. The one-hour journey there took 2 hours and the return journey three hours as the demonstrators had blocked every road and lane in and out of the city of Dinan forcing me to make a very long detour. Perhaps longer than necessary as I had neither map nor GPS on the motorbike so had to rely on visual memory to find another route! On the bright side, if I had been in the car I would have been blocked for even longer; at least I could filter through the jams on the bike ;-))
This is Cancale bay - an oasis of calm in a frustrating day!
