A Year of Days: Day 220 - Medieval Wedding

There was a wedding in Paimpont Abbey this afternoon where all the guests were asked to attend in medieval costume. I wasn't much impressed with the bride and groom's costumes (so I haven't included them in this shot) and liked those of some of the guests better - especially the little bridesmaids.
Novel approach for what I imagine was a second marriage. The stonework plays its trump card; subtle, classic and enduring.

@s4sayer No, a first marriage I would have thought; the are quite young, but not included in this shot.

This pre-occupation with the forms of the past is big in France too, is it Richard? I thought it was just a Brit thing. It would be fine if the past was actually studied so that lessons could be learned!

I thought it was a play. I love simple weddings the best. But I am prejudiced only 3 others at my wedding besides Jim and I. It was the wedding of my dreams. I guess others have bigger dreams.

My eye went right to the little gold-robed figure. Lots to see here, but she is definitely the star.
