Today being the 15th of August it is also the Feast of the Assumption. At Paimpont, the celebration mass takes place in the open-air in that part of the Parish gardens where the Grotto of Notre Dame de Paimpont is sited.
I had intended to post a picture of the 600 strong congregation but it was only after the event that I realised that the camera still had 2 stops of exposure compensation dialled in from the last time I used it and both of the shots I took were irrecoverably over-exposed. I wanted to mark the day, so here's a shot of the beginning of the celebrations, looking in the opposite direction to the one I had intended!
The contemplative faces of Annick and Thierry suggest acute listening as they play their parts in this important celebration, for both the Feast Day and its implications and the congregation...out of shot.
