The Museum is located in the park known as The Domain; and only a part is actually dedicated to NZ's role in the First and Second World Wars, among other conflicts.
It also has an excellent natural history section, with a stuffed Moa bird over 3 metres tall (the Maori hunted this flightless species to extinction in the 14th-15th centuries).
