Rangariri Pa by yorkshirekiwi

Rangariri Pa

Autumn has hit us with a vengeance, and we've had two days of rain - needed but...... Between showers I nipped down to Rangariri Pa. Remains of fortifications where an outnumbered Maori force was attacked by 1,500 British troops in one of the crucial battles of the Waikato campaign on 20 November 1863, with both sides suffering heavy casualties.
Makes a great frame. We've finally had some rain too, not enough, but always when you want to do something else:)

Great shot and interesting history. The grass shows signs of an extended dry period.
