This lovely old building is at Pahi, home of yesterday's giant tree. Designed by architect John Currie of Auckland, the building is now a private residence that was rebuilt after a fire in 1897. There is a motorhome camp right next door, which is on my list of places to stay. Shame the hotel is no longer serving as a pub!
Beautiful building. This reminded me of a building, much smaller than the one seen here, we have in Malta which was built for those who wanted to emigrate to Australia. Those who opted to emigrate would spend some time in the building to get acclimitised to the type of architecture they would eventually live in. The building has now been taken over by Heritage Malta and is being restored for posterity.
Came across your work and I like your style.
