Another early start, we hoped to see the sunrise with Mount Ngauruhoe and possibly some light trails, as there are a lot of big lorries using this road. In reality, the mountain was completely covered in clouds during sunrise, and it was early Sunday morning, so very few vehicles were on the road. The cloud eventually cleared by 7 am. I do love the colours in the shot though
Oh wow….i have never seen so much snow on Mount Ngauruhoe before. I always go at a warmer time of the year & even then the Desert Road has some lovely views of the three volcanoes. I love this one…..big big fave. Love the way the road curves round.
