I recently took a picture that sparked an emotion in me which was surprising and unexpected. I can't be the only one who takes a picture (thinking it was alright) only to discover upon uploading, it was a lot more than alright... it represented a personal emotion.
I wanted to start a thread that allows us to show these photographs. You don't have to describe why it's emotional to you, just write one word that represents the emotion of yours. I'll start with two photographs:
Well I feeling these emotions at the time of taking the shots, but anger, despair, hate, helpless. Though the helplessness subsided a little knowing that I helped make it national news, click on the photo for more detail
These were taken in 2009 when we visited the Australian War Memorial.
2009 we visited the Australian War Memorial. I was trying to get the token Roll of honour shot without anyone in the way when this young girl walked in right as I took the shot, and just started to read out the names, I found it incredibly sad - even though I'd already spent a while reading them myself.
This entrance way just made me cry when I read it.
@bobfoto woah, read that. You've just made me feel the way I do when I look through Don McCullins books- probably my all-time favourite photographer but I can only take so much as it's heart- wrenching
RELIEF
Well, it would have to be this one. I think it was just the relief that I finally finished my project. My wife was over the moon when I finished too lol hehehehe : )
Togetherness - a moment in time when so many people were gathered together in one place in happiness, excitement and delight. Super Saturday in the Olympic Stadium last summer.

When I saw this thread I immediately though of this photo below, not because I took it but because it always comes to my mind when someone mentions showing an emotion in a photo - how could matchsticks show emotion? Scrolling through the thread each of your photos made me click on them to see the original post - you have brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing. @sreehari - yet again I am posting your photo in a thread
@jase_h yeah really had to think but the look of desolation especially after reading the story- glad you agree. Ironic that most of my favourite photographers are war photographers yet I detest all war
@bobfoto yes saw the horse photo - first thought "I wouldn't stand right there" second thought " wait, what she doing & why is she happy about it?" Did you read that the horse had a diaper rash? That's when I lost it - rofl
The brevity of life. One day you are a child with no cares in the world and one day you wake up, look in the mirror and think, "Where did the time go?"
