So I'm scouting around 365, as I do every day, and it seems quiet. Let's presume this is the post-New year lull.
Unfortunately, when it's quiet, I find it difficult to get my 365-fix :P
So what's going on folks? Keeping busy? Or are you all hiding from all the snow we're still having in March? Or are you lucky, lucky people from warmer climates busy basking?
Anyone want to share anything?
Do it, share something. Blow your own trumpet - or someone else's ;) Anything you like. This world is your oyster.
Show me your weird or wonderful, your wonderfully cliché or, if you feel compelled, your totally terrible.
I'll start.
A pineapple in sunglasses. Just because.
Also, I checked the previous threads. It's been at least two weeks since anyone mentioned cake.
I've definitely been having a lull - lots of gaps in March for me but I found I did the same thing last year. I used the flashback button and came up with this shot. Funnily enough, we were at this same spot yesterday - no camera though. Might have to revisit soon - with camera!
I seem to have been in a lull since Christmas. We woke up to snow again here (spring?, what spring?), so here is a nice warm looking sunset to make it feel a bit less wintery ...
I was just thinking on Sunday how quiet it was, but then I thought "Hrmm maybe people just aren't on as much on the weekends and I don't notice. It seems to have slowed down a lot though. Like there are people I followed quite enthusiastically and they seem to have just disappeared. Makes me kind of sad. :(
I will share a recent favorite of mine, not just because I like how the photo came out but because the process of making it reminded me just how freaking awesome my husband is!
I still don't know if I really understand what the One Night Stand Challenge is, especially since I only jumped in day before yesterday with the wildlife theme, but it DID make me try my first Star Trail last night, and while it's not ready for prime time, I DO think it's ready for a Post-New-Year-Lull thread.
I've managed to shoot everyday still, but there is definitely a case of winter indifference going on. Lack of inspiration?...Just sick of the weather?... running out of indoor items to shoot?... who knows? All I can say is that the flashback button reminded me of how beautiful it was outside in September.
I'm in a lull coz I never have any time to photograph anything. It's really starting to get on my nerves. Who wants to be busy with life, and unable to spend hours with your camera or on 365? How annoying to be bothered with trivial details like paid employment and caring for my children :)
This is probably the best I have done in a while. Sometimes I'm in a lull
because...well...I don't know....but I believe I am. And this is probably the closest I have been between sweets and cake.
So, here is a photo that I think I or you should have. But, I will try to make 365 more creative, and try to get OUT of the lull. But, I'm not making any promises, because sometimes lulls are hard to get out of. :(
I find that I am in an end of winter funk! Here are three of mine from our Hawaii vacation in August - just what I need to go back and look at for a little pick me up! Thanks for this post that brightened by day by having me relive my most beautiful vacation ever!!!
Haven't been a lull myself...I've been on a stay-cation for almost two weeks! :)..sadly the weather has mostly STUNK to put it mildly and I didn't do half what I wanted...but spring is coming (sooner or later it always has)...but I have noticed the decreased comments and pics. I am doing the One NIght Stand to make me try something new. This is my shot from yesterday
I've been in a bit if a lull too. I think it's just that point in the project for me (almost ending my 4th month), but the weather's been so pretty that I'm trying to get out more. I'm needing new inspiration for my shots.
Still posting but been a bit of struggle (particularly as have disgusting cold and don't want to do anything). Don't have cake (though I'd really love some right now) but do have meringues ...
Not just me then... it has gone quiet and I think some folks who like me started in January have fallen by the wayside. Hard to maintain the inspiration when the weathers been so awful for months on end. This was taken during a brief respite on Monday last. Love the green reflections (no cake) :)
Weather definitely doesn't help.... but you can make the best of what you've got! Plus, it is only finally getting light after work so hopefully will get more time to shoot outside!
I restarted this project because I'm in a lull myself. I just can't find anything to photograph. I started the project out well with this shot but then everyday since it's been a struggle to get inspired to shoot anything. I used to just come up with stuff off the top of my head and shoot. Now I have to peruse here to get ideas. Carry my camera everywhere and hope something strikes my fancy. Nothing ever does.
It is quiet today. This year, I killed a snowman and was caught by my neighbor. A week or so ago, he saw me out taking a photo in my front yard and asked if I had killed any snow men lately. Pretty funny!
I am so glad it's not just me. I was starting to panic thinking I had hit a' photographers block', before even becoming one !So I tried a few different things this week, a little bit more out of my comfort zone, this was one of them.
It is quiet...it was around this time when I did my first 365 too...and I've been struggling what with manic work and cr*ppy weather....some daffs to cheer us all up :)
I wish you'd all stop posting pictures of yummy cakes and sweet things: I was already fighting a losing battle with a bar of Green and Blacks and I think I'm going to have to admit defeat now. :(
I too have been suffering from a lull. It's partly weather induce (we just don't seem to have had any sunshine at all yet this year) but mainly work related. Hopefully, come Easter, we'll get some lovely sunny weather and I'll have the time to get out and be creative.
Definitely experiencing a lull here, too! It's the awful weather that just won't end...another 4-8 inches of snow predicted for Monday. I hate cold weather. A lot.
But I like turtles and I like bread...so here is some bread shaped like a turtle. =)
I will share a recent favorite of mine, not just because I like how the photo came out but because the process of making it reminded me just how freaking awesome my husband is!
its the mid year lull started early, roll on December! ;(
Geometry!
@primitiveprobe YESSSS.
@breigh Agreed! It is certainly quieter on weekends.
Amazing.
In the meantime heres some icecream to keep everyone going
And I want Sparklers!
I also had a little boys birthday last week. Hard to believe when I look at this and back at my project/s that I've been here so many years. lol

But will be back Monday for year 2

Check it out since all the explanation is there as well and be ready to play next time!
For you...because sometimes a pinapples says it all ;)

@la_photographic given me a slight spot of vertigo there :P
@grizzlysghost genuinely, the happiest squirrel I've ever seen.
@melody2289 that is amazing!
@swilde I shall expect photographs, and samples :P
Thanks for the thread. It's not as lively around here lately.
