This is a B&W thread - for B&W photography where B&W is the main mode. Selective coloring is OK, Sepia is OK, but the images in this thread should mainly be monotone.
What's your favorite B&W photo from this past week? Share with us what you took this week. Please post only one B&W photo you took. Didn't take a B&W this week? That's OK. Post a B&W from someone else's project that you really fell in love with this week.
Find the B&W you want to share and then copy and paste the code into a reply. You'll find the code below the Facebook and Twitter buttons on the right hand column of that photo.
Quite difficult to choose... I've had a particularly fun week of black and white... but I'll go with this one. I might print it on a postcard sometime. :)
@primitiveprobe, I love how you used a simple subject and brought it into a more complex state! I also like how you use B&W but had a touch of brightness, so you see the gears inside the window cleaner's cap!
still hard for me to CHOOSE to process in b&w, so for me to pick the b&w version of what was the luscious burgundy color of this hydrangea bud and the lacy ivory flowers from last spring is kind of epic!
@webfoot - OK - not 100% monochrome, but very desaturated and mostly monochrome. Does that count? :) In any case, I was pleased with the results of this shot. This is the daughter of a friend.

He can do whatever he wants with me. I give thanks to God every day for having a nephew so beautiful ... and also for my niece who I love so much.
love the wheel
I do like B/W... Feel free to jump on a couple of days for my other favourite... A portrait of my friend Stacey.
Trying something new here with processing and style.
I'm rather happy with the comp and feel achieved by processing.
