Upload your favorite black and white from your project to this thread so that we can see them. If you did not have one, you may upload one that you really liked from someone else if you would like to. I only had one this week so I will start the thread off with it.
This is an HDR image of a historic mill in Rhode Island. The image is a composite of 10 photos across a 9-stop exposure range and processed in Photomatix Pro.
Okay, here's a stupid question (I'm new). How do you do black and white with your digital camera. Do you just change the settings in the software or is there something you do when taking the picture. I do most of my serious photography with a Canon Rebel. Thanks, Sandy
PS sorry is this is too stupid and obvious for words to anyone else but I guess I still think like I'm in the last century dealing with film!
@scrappingsandy Question is not stupid. I will tell you what I know and perhaps more advanced photographers will chime in also. You can set your camera to just take bw photos. On my Canon it is under the menu button. Second button from left. Go down and find picture style, under that you can change to monochrome as well as other settings. If you are shooting jpegs though once you shoot it in bw, you cannot change it to anything else. I believe most people just shoot them all in what the camera calls standard and then changes them to bw in either Photoshop/Lightroom or whatever software program that you are using. I hope this helps you. I shoot everything in RAW so that I can change several things in the software.

had a tough time choosing between 2 of Beau's shots, but went with this one. Made me wonder if I would venture any further down
