There's always one... He eventually turned round and told me in an astonished voice, 'It's absolutely impossible to get through!!' Well he is walking towards the main river which is somewhere way behind the bench so I've no idea why he thought conditions were going to improve. This is one of Monty's favourite 'hooping' locations and although it hasn't rained today the water was flowing swiftly across the path.
Lots of Police tape in evidence elsewhere as great swathes of footpaths and cycleways are under water and in between the paths are some really deep bits.....
Three GT:
1. The houses alongside the meadows further along are still about 6 feet above the water-line though their gardens are underwater.
2. A bronze medal for Jenny Jones - loved listening to her mum on the radio this morning and empathised with the 'we're not allowed to come' part!
3. The water that has been submerging the crocuses at the back of Trinity has disappeared and the flowers (from quick glance from the car) look amazing.
Another submerged path in Extras. http://365project.org/judithg/extras/2014-02-09
@lucypics Thanks for the fav - I've just edited to mention the deep bits!! He then traipsed around the paddling pool at Newnham which is overflowing with river water and I was poised with my camera incase he stepped in it!!
Oh my gosh...it looks like boats would be a better transportation option than bikes. You all have been totally inundated with water! Excellent shot, Judith. Be careful of those deep bits when you are out and about.
Weird that he could be walking into the river ...no edges if you don''t know the area is a real danger. You could easily get disoriented I suppose ....I like this in b/w & it all looks very pretty even though so much water about.
What a twit!! and when he falls in someday, someone will have to risk their lives to get him!....shame he didn't fall in while you were poised with camera!
Looks gr8 in monochrome Judith. it gives the shot a real reportage feel and an almost timeless feel too...a fave for the monochrome rather than the upset of the flooding
