infrared and sunflare on the Molonglo River, Coppins Crossing
I had a big day yesterday, the rode across town to my practice test, getting up to 100km/h, I came back home on a more scenic route stopping for a quick photo. The plans were to head to the fireworks later for a big photo session.
I was invited to dinner with friends across Canberra and since the weather was clear I thought I'd ride and experience my first night ride.
It started raining and we heard crowds of 100,000 were at the lake for the fireworks and I hate crowds. I hoped the rain would ease up for my ride home. It did not. The ride home was horrendous, the rain on my visor in the dark made the ride home very scary, it was OK on well lit roads but on stretches with no street lights I was pretty tense. I guess I have experienced it now and survived, so hopefully it will never be that bad again.
so here is a another shot with the infrared converted camera
Oh!! Megan you've done it again - how many of your shots have taken my breath away!! This is just gorgeous.
Well done on persevering with the scooter..must admit I wouldn't like it in the rain either but you know that if you have to do it, you can. Maybe avoid it in the snow!! 100km/h? Go Girl!! :)
@jgoldrup great minds think alike, I have been thinking that I need to use my IR cameras (yes there are more than one - different IR wavelengths) on a more regular basis and I should have a day of the week that I regularly post IR shots. I haven't decided what day that will be but I will try to do it weekly.
@filsie65 thanks Phil, your comments always make me feel so good. It seldom snows in Canberra (just a freak snow fall once every 5-10 years is all) so I shouldn't have to deal with that
@lbmcshutter
So remind me again, what the heck? They add a filter into the camera? This is on digital? I'm confused by new things. Did you already explain this to me? sorry, fav.
@chewyteeth they remove the infrared blocker in front of the sensor and replace it with a filter that removes visible light. This filter is behind the mirror, so the camera can be used normally - handheld, normal shutter speeds, normal composition through the viewfinder, and focus, all work like a normal camera. (thanks to wikipedia for the explanation)
@chewyteeth there are places which convert your camera but I bought already converted cameras on eBay, I ended up buying a couple at different wavelengths (I get addicted to eBay at times) and got both canon DSLRs and p&s
