Strange Object Spotted in South of England

Left house at 08.15 and sky a weird blue.
Drove on motorway when suddenly surrounded by a blanket of swirling white stuff at 08.20.
Parked car in drizzle at 08.35 and spotted this round object like a globe through the fog.
Can anyone tell me what it is please???
