We( I) have a rule. If it's raining when we arrive I stay in the car and he puts up tent, alone. Rule doesn't apply when we de- camp. As I type I'm damp, hair looks like something from Hair Bear Bunch and I have a 3+ hour journey home, to unpack and dry everything out.
I agree that it is not nice to put up/down the tent, in rainy weather, but isn't there anything cosier and most comforting than the sound of raindrops falling on the tent-material. I love it! Hop you have safe trip home.
Hee hee......Our rule is 'if it's raining when we get there we try to find a B&B! But several stories have been told about the times he has taken the tent down from the inside while I watch from the car!!!
I usually do the drying out stuff too!
This brings back memories! Many years ago we had a mini and used to drive it inside the (frame) tent when it rained so we could pack in the dry..until it came to the outer tent!...
Ooooh soggy soggy! I have had that cold damp sensation in the bones when setting up or breaking camp in the rain many times too. I started to realise the appeal of a trailer tent at that point.......
