Soaring Over Harting

A glorious walk up and down ( more ups I think?) The South Downs. A minute after this was taken, the paraglider crash landed, unharmed fortunately
Oh goodness! This is a beautiful but scary hobby. Wonderfully photographed, well done

Beautiful capture. It must have been frightening to see it crash. I’m glad to hear he/she was unharmed.

Harting Rise is very high and very steep and the perfect launch site for these is part way up.

This bloke had a few failed launches and finally took to the air past us. He descended rapidly, just missed a gate, but was uninjured.

We walked on and when admiring the view on the hike up to the top ( or taking a rest as I would truthfully call it!) could see he took about 20 minutes to gather up his chute and go back for another launch. By that time we'd gone over the hill so didn't see him have another try.

THANK YOU ALL FOR LOVELY COMMENTS ON MY PHOTOBOMBER!!

@randystreat no help was needed, we just photographed his landing and then watched his more experienced colleague, who not once flew over the village for another shot like this!!

Not a bad view from there!
