Posh or Chavvy??

This is a focus stack of 9 photographs, I started to follow an Affinity tutorial, but Affinity got ahead of me and sorted it all out.

Impressive result.
I am wondering: why use focus stack instead of a small aperture? What would be the difference in the result?

@monikozi thank you. I think it's because depth of field not sharp throughout?? So cheat with processing 😜

Very impressive - I have recently been reading about stacking. I was wanting to capture some star trails but maybe I need to start smaller and nail something like this first (although more than likely it will just go in the too hard basket).
