Red on Green

This is my second sighting of a castor bean plant this week. I was never aware of it before, nor did I know its name. Yet another discovery with this project.
Not Christmas yet. Lovely

@365projectorgjoworboys Hi Jo, I'm learning as I go along here. I would say that it is the fruit. The seeds (bean) inside these pods produce castor oil, which is used for a number of products, but the beans are highly toxic apparently. When I was reading about castor beans, I started to wonder why they are planted in public places. They do look pretty, but they are really dangerous for children and animals, both of whom might be tempted to eat them. Hmm. Anyhow, it is naturally a weed, but people have started to grow them in their gardens.

Such an interesting and attractive seedhead. Nicely captured. I've learned such a lot while doing 365, identifying birds, butterflies etc and also so that I can give a bit of information with my posts and also I've learned a lot from other people's posts.
