Cold Feet

What's a robin to do when it's snowy and cold?
Nice shot ! Always amazed at how different ( entirely different species ) your robin is to our European Robin ! So you still have snow - they are threatening snow by the end of the week here in the UK!! I wonder if it will materialise and in which areas !

@beryl Yes, I know (about our different robins- I love your little cuties!) And oh know, Beryl! Snow in the UK!! That can't happen! Someone didn't get the memo- snowdrops and daffodils and crocuses mean *spring*!!!

The robins are such fun and usually they seem more cocky and less shy than some other birds, letting me get quite close before taking off. All the birds look to me to be underdressed in the winter. Don't know how they make it through.

Wonderful capture of this beauty, he looks like our robins here. He seems to be standing on leaves to keep his feet warm ;-)

Beautiful focus and composition. I’ve seen Robins around but never in my backyard where I usually go to photograph birds.

They certainly do seem to adapt to the weather

Beautiful shot and lovely details. Our robins prefer to hide. There are quite a lot of them, but they are distrustful.

A wonderful capture and such a lovely bird to find. I did read somewhere that birds don't feel the cold in their feet and legs.

So interesting you have robins already, here in central Illinois I saw my first one yesterday. Great shot.

@illinilass Hi Dorothy. Actually, we have had robins all winter- many never left. I'm puzzled by this, but since I live downtown, I guess it's possible that they had a good source of food here and never had to leave (I hear it's all about food :)
