Red twig dogwood

Winter's icy breath
underneath awaits new life
my soul yearns for warmth

WOD: Poetry. Tried my hand at a haiku.
I think we have one more wintery day, and then perhaps temperatures will warm. I used my red twig dogwood to get a bit of color in my day.

Oh, I'm so glad we've finally got rid of the snow :) And I don't miss it at all! But I must admit, it looks pretty on this red dogwood branch.

Terrific shot! Now that is the dogwood I know and love. We have just pruned ours (very hard!) for the year and I am looking forward to seeing the new branches growing into that vivid red.
