Today is the first day of Advent; a time of waiting, a time of preparation. Every night when the kids were home we would light the candles on the Angel Chime, find the appropriate character for each of the three Advent calendars, and read a bit of the Christmas story. I think they all have it memorized, a sentence or two each day throughout the month. Maybe I'll go put up the Angel Chime and look for those old calendars.
