Had an eye on the sky driving to town today because there was a hint of rainbow under the sun. As the clouds thinned, a circle began to appear. Found a turnout and got some photos. Drove a little further, found a turnout, and got some pictures. Drove a little further, found another turnout, and got some more pictures. It's hard to pay attention to the road when you know this might disappear any minute.
Wow! What an amazing phenomenon. Was the halo really that large? Was the sky really that color or is that your artistic rendering? Either way it works for me.
@mrslaloggie Thank you! Our skies are generally very blue. I shoot in RAW. In Lightroom I set the White Balance to Daylight, and then set the Camera Profile calibration to Landscape. I think the blue really popped though because I took it into Color Efex and added a tonal contrast to pop the white in the clouds with a slight vignette.
