Woke up to a persistent bird call, which Merlin identified as a redstart. So, up and out to try and track it down. I could hear it moving from tree to tree, but with the wonderful May weather we enjoyed the tree canopy in the yard is thick and lush. I could hear him, but I couldn't see him. I did get a glimpse of him high in the honey locust, but this is the best I could get. He sang all day long, happily hidden up there in all that foliage. I must admit, it is nice to see the trees thick with leaves. It is a rare experience here. It does, however, severely hamper my birding photography.
