Visited a little lake hoping to find dragonflies. It was extremely windy, and didn't see a single one. However, there were several monarchs on this beautiful milkweed. The monarchs loved it! Wish I could grow this variety, but it was at the edge of the lake very close to the cattails. I think I probably don't have a wet enough spot for it.
This is gorgeous, April! And yes, monarchs thrive on milkweed.
I wouldn't give up on growing some yet ... milkweed is very tolerant and can take some drought.
As your get pushed partner, I challenge you to try some horsey silhouettes this week ... preferably with either blue or golden hour lighting.
