Visiting Mount Rushmore was practically an annual event when I was young. Unfortunately, it was not one I continued with my children. I did take them up almost two decades ago, but youngest has no memory of the visit. After picking eldest up at the Rapid City airport, we came down through the Keystone so that she could see what she doesn't remember. It has been greatly improved in the past two decades with a beautiful entrance and lovely President's Trail.
That's a really good place to take a picture from, showing both the entrance and the Heads as well as the flags of the states. It's been awhile since I've been there. Time to go again...
