My get-pushed challenge from Michelle for this week was to do a street photography with selective coloring. Wow! I do neither of these, and this is actually the only public person image I got while in Portland. As much as I admire street photography, I have little opportunity to practice and it feels very awkward the few times I am where it is feasible. If Lisa @nanalisarocks hadn't stopped to get these girls (her little sister was helping gather leaves and can be seen here after a fall http://365project.org/nanalisarocks/album-2/2015-10-11 ) I would not have gotten any street photographs. I think this is one genre that is out of my reach.
Michelle @psychegrrrl Taken timely, but didn't get around to posting until today. This was my only street photo from my trip. I kind of like the selective coloring here. Thanks for the push!
Don't beat yourself up. This is beautiful. Everything new feels awkward. I felt awkward going to play ping-pong for the first time in decades yesterday, almost didn't go. But it was fun. And it is OK to feel awkward. Keep trying, and soon you'll be comfortable with it. Your camera is your shield. You are not actually interfacing with strangers, your camera is, so you don't need to be shy.
This is such a nice subtle selective color - just to bring the atmosphere into the picture. And the girl with her beautiful blond hair and the plaid shirt ist just wonderful for a black-and-white portrait.
