spirolight

FBailey challenged me to try some light painting this week, particularly to have a go at spiro photography. That proved much harder than I anticipated. First, my flashlight had too broad a beam. Then I decided the string was too long so the patterns just weren't very spirographic. Then the white ceiling was bouncing too much light back onto the lens .. and then and then and then. Well, after a few hours, this was the best of that attempt. Since she did also mention simple "light painting" I'm headed that direction with the challenge.
FBailey @fbailey Here's the only half way decent result I had from my try with spiro light painting. I made my string too long and couldn't get the spin I needed for a spirograph. I also didn't choose my location very wisely, and had way too much light scatter. After an hour or so of trying I had to switch to some more straight forward light painting just to make sure what I was seeing was light scatter and not a dirty sensor (which had me a bit panicked for awhile). Great exercise in patience and persistence, though.

Nailed your challenge! Put aluminium foil over end pierce a tiny hole. Can make hole bigger if needed.
