Thought I'd close the week with one more try at the theme. This pen was made for me by my daughter's father-in-law. I don't know how exactly he made it (Meg and her in-laws live 600 miles away from us in Massachusetts) but Meg said he gave her the final selection, and she picked one for me and one for John. Meg knows her parents well; she picked this dainty purple one for me and a bold orange for her father. We're both delighted with her choices.
Wow, a personally made pen, nice gift, and as a librarian, you need a nice pen. I am a pen collector of sorts. I collect all those medical pens, you know the ones from the pharmaceuticals? Well very few give out the real nice ones anymore, I do have a few. I have a whole box full of some I have collected over the years. This is a great photo for the theme.
To add: This is his Barber Shop. 1/2 mile from my house that I just moved out of in Indianapolis. Funny thing, hs website doesn't even mention his pens. http://mccordsvillebarbershop.com/default.aspx
A friend of mine was recently given a similar looking pen...tho his is brown/white and not purple...I know it was made on a lathe but not sure what else one must do to make a pen...guess some parts you can just buy. A very nice gift.
