The first corsage I ever had was a gardenia worn on my wrist. It was at a Christmas dance, and I had a wonderful time. When I inhale the fragrance of a gardenia blossom, I am taken back to that magical evening. I'm not certain who took me to the dance, but I remember keeping the gardenia til it turned brown and dry.
I spotted this gardenia in a pot along a covered walkway at school. There were many, many buds but this was the first to bloom.
To add to the nostalgic mood, why not listen to Nat King Cole singing "Blue Gardenia"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFS7vC0L77w
Wow, it does look great Allison, and I'm sure you looked fine in your gown that evening too, all dressed up. A great photo. Isn't it amazing how those simple things can trigger some great memories?
@digitalrn They say our sense of smell originates in the most primitive part of the brain and is the last to fade when our mind begins to fail. I can believe it. So many smells trigger memories from childhood.
