The students were thrilled to come into the cafeteria today and see the first of the wall hangings they had created in art class. All the students had a share in fabricating this amazing piece, under the direction of visiting artist Meghan Resler. She was inspired by traditional weaving techniques of Peru where she had studied. The close up reminds me of the technique used to create "rag rugs" or braided rugs. It's very pretty and what a nice colorful picture to enjoy while eating lunch!
