Abandoned

I couldn't be sure if this structure was part of the Oatlands estate. I walked to the edge of the terraced gardens to take this picture. From the thickness of the ivy climbing up the wall, it appears no one has disturbed this building in quite awhile.
Funny you should take note of the ivy. As I was passing my favorite barn today (the Grand Old Lady), I noticed she's covered in vines again. So I think they grow pretty fast once the roots are established on the side of the building. I love how rustic this looks- like you would find it here in the Poconos and not on the grounds of a southern plantation! Nice capture.

I love how it sits on the hillside, and how the vines have taken over the side of the barn

looks fabulous Allison, do you think it could do a sepia conversion to look all 'olde world' ?

@phil_howcroft Actually I tried that first (great minds and all that!) but it removed the detail of the leaves and made the trees look like one big mass so I reverted back to the original.

@allie912 ahhh well there you go , great minds indeed , monochrome conversions can be difficult to do :)

You might not have been able to see the vine so clearly in sepia. I think it looks really nice the way it is.
love the bluish looking trees in the background framing the picture.
