My son Max and his fiancee Sarah posed with young Maddie for a picture taken with Sarah's iPhone. They emailed me the photo, and I was naturally glad to get a picture of the 3 of them together. I did wonder, however, what Maddie was up to, as her hands were lifted like paws. Oh, said Sarah, we didn't realize it at the time but in every picture we took, Maddie was pretending to be a reindeer. I guess she was inspired by her antler hairband. In any event, when I was tweaking the picture to get it brighter, I also did a little cropping, and her reindeer hooves did not make the final cut.
