I did warn you yesterday that I would be back with therapy dog Benson and the First Graders who loved him. You can see how good he is with children. I'm sure each of these boys woud have loved to take him home.
I love that you are using therapy dogs. I hope to get a pup late this year and be back at it a year after that as they have to be a year old to take the test and be insured. I miss it terribly
@allie912 My Cardigan Welsh Corgi Maggie that you see here often. We worked the neurosurgical ICU and the trauma floor. So from strokes to gun shots to deaths. She would get in bed with whoever wanted a dog visit. Then, while the patients would love on her, they would often tell me their stories. So, a therapy team helps in two ways. And the goal is for pain relief. It was the most rewarding service experience I have ever had. After she developed Addison's Disease she was too nervous to work the hospitals as it is very stressful for the dog as they soak up what is around them. I hope to get a pup this fall and be able to do it again some day. I miss it terribly.
