I've observed this bush well-swathed for several weeks, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why it needs protection. It doesn't appear to be any kind of fruit tree. Do any of you have a suggestion?
You would think it's being protected from birds, but if it doesn't have any berries on them I really don't know why it's covered up. is it pruned to look like some kind of an animal and if so, why is it covered up. hope you find out as I/m very curious now.
@bruni@catwoman2@digitalrn@sarasdadandmom Went back today and peered through the net. Definitely not a fruit bearing plant. Looks like just a regular shrub. There are no cars parked when I walk by so I haven't found anyone to ask. Still a mystery.
My thought is that it is definitely there to protect this bush from some sort of bug- perhaps tent caterpillars or Gypsy moths. Could be aphids too- although I never have seen any gardener go to such lengths to keep aphids away. It certainly is curious!
