I wanted to do something special for a friend and colleague who is retiring, so I created this arrangement. I gathered greens and wild flowers from the school garden and then added two dozen butterflies on wire stakes. After the bouquet fades, I hope she plants the butterflies in her garden at home.
Many years ago Cheryl and I were moms who volunteered in the school library. I went on to become a librarian while Cheryl became the school secretary who kept our Lower School Head on schedule. Our sons were a few years apart and we became grandmothers about the same time. We have a very long history together, and the school won't be the same without her.
What a lovely gift for your long-time dear friend! I trust you'll not lose touch...just not work together... This is truly heartfelt and a nice photo to save the memory.
@Weezilou I realize it is part of the cycle of life but it is still disconcerting saying fareweil to contemporaries and becoming one of the elders (wise or otherwise) of the school.
