In this part of the United States, after the holiday of Labor Day, the community, public and social club swimming pools all close. It is a real symbol of the end of the season. Despite several more weeks of high temperatures and sunny skies, children must turn their attention to school and realize vacation is over. (The adults aren't too happy either.)
