Monticello Beans

Can you believe the color of these bean pods? No special effects, I promise. When the pods dry out and the beans are ready, they will be black and white. Today they were still tiny and green.
Also known as Hyacinth Bean, Egyptian Bean, and Indian Bean, these were grown decoratively by Thomas Jefferson at his estate Monticello. Two hundred years later, they are still grown in the same location at Monticello.
