My friend asked me to capture this lone tree in all four seasons for him and he would buy the collage. Here is my winter version that I captured a couple weeks back on our snow day. Here was my original shot of the tree from earlier in the year: http://365project.org/amandal/365-year-2/2013-01-29
Today is cold, wet and gray. I have one kiddo home sick from school and another recovering from being sick yesterday. So looking forward to sunny skies, warmth and health.
Happy new week, friends. Despite it all, we always have much to be thankful for!!!
Awesome capture. Love the idea of capturing it in 4 seasons. Will you try to capture it exactly the same way each time? I once saw someone do that, but seems complicated. Though I remember reading somewhere that there's a mathematical/scientific way of pulling it off. Almost in the vein of surveying land. Be a cool challenge to try.
@losthorizon I try to remember the angle of the hill. I just move around until I find it. I should spray a big x on the place where I stand;-). Thanks!
@kwind Thanks, Kim. I wish I had another lens to get this shot with. It is so tough to get the thing into the frame without cutting anything off. I'd prefer more space around it, but...someday:).
@pflaume Thanks, Lisa. I really appreciate that. I do, too. Hope that I can capturing it well and in the same place all 4 times.
@happysnap Thanks, Linda. I would prefer give the tree more breathing room in the photo, but with the lens that I have and the other things around it, it's the best I can do. Maybe it's best up close like this for the collage, though?
@skipt07 You are kind to say that, Skip!! How close are you to Philly should we have a meet up there sometime? Still want to do a trip to Amish country. When is the best time of year for that?
@fueast Thanks, Alison. I'd prefer give it some breathing room in the photo, but my lens and obstructions around the tree don't allow. Hope that I can put together a good collage worthy of sale.
@masosy Me, too. I sure hope that the tree flowers. I've never noticed it in the spring before. I think that the trees flower less here than they did in California. Missing spring there. It starts waaaay earlier. Last year we had flowering trees in January. A whole lotta nothing yet here now. It will come...Thanks, my friend!
@paula365 Thanks, Paula. I will have to figure out how to do one well and post it up. Appreciate your comments. How far are you from Cincy should we do a meet up? I feel like I have asked before. Forgive my forgetfulness if so.:)
@wendyhgill Thanks, Miss Wendy. I still need to figure out how to do collages for this and the alphabet. How's your coming? I processed a D today and will put it up tomorrow. I found an M yesterday, too. Getting there.
@kbalychev I sure hope so, sweet lady. It would be my first commissioned thing and maybe my first sale if he does like it. Unless my contest photo sells...
@bardejov Thanks so much, sweet lady! How's your wonderful FL warmth? Send me some, would you?;-)
@losthorizon Yes! Great idea. If I could only find the place. It may be in a parking lot or in someone's yard. I don't remember. Taking spray paint and a BIG rock next time;-).
No, I like them both. They both capture winter but in completely different ways. I opened two windows and looked at both large next to each other. Just beautiful together especially against the black. Really highlights what the snow adds to the picture. Keep them just as they are. Can't wait to see the spring version.
what a wonderful idea!! I really like that a lot!! there's a tree I took a photograph of on my profile that I pass by every time going to my friend's house and that would be a great idea for this lone tree!!! Love it!!
What a gorgeous capture, Amanda. I have enjoyed seeing the trees from season to season. Nice to link yours, I chose to do a collage. Took a lot of photos to get it exact.
@wenbow Thanks so very much, Miss Wendy for all of your lovely comments and the fave and encouragement with this image. I am looking forward to getting a spring shot soon!
@darrenboyj Thanks, Darren!!
@pflaume Thanks, Lisa. I really appreciate that. I do, too. Hope that I can capturing it well and in the same place all 4 times.
