It was time for a new selfie. I had some ideas in my head for awhile and finally got the opportunity to spend some time doing them today. I got all fancied up (turned a few heads at the bus stop this morning as I was not in my normal momish apparel) and went to the historic Kings Mansion after I dropped Clara off at preschool. I needed a good brick wall. Notice how my shadow casts an A on the ground. Totally cool accident! Maybe this will be my A?!
After spending a little while there, I went in and helped in Emily's classroom. Normally beforehand, I work out, so it was nice to go into school not sweaty for a change. I'm sure the kids appreciated it, too.
This week I have to do a selfie with me and my 3 kids. I'm kinda dreading it as even getting one to cooperate for a photo is a pain in the rump. Hope to get something good.
Yeah, I would rate this an "A". The only way you could have received an "A+" would have been if you flashed a little leg...(hehehe). seriously though, really slick shot Amanda. "Accidental" or otherwise, all of the elements in the photo work perfectly.
These form a great collection! I'm impressed at how you created such a simple background, and turned it into a wonderful portrait. I like both versions -- sitting and standing, and I like the b&w version. Good luck on the one with your three kids!
@jodimuli Thanks so much for the sweet words and fav, man. I was starting to wonder. I had posted b&w on facebook and my friends were liking it and commenting like crazy and it was like crickets on here with this one. Maybe I should have gone with b&w in my main. I ended up posting it in my extra album. It seems that photographers tend to prefer b&w portraits more often than not.
Wow, Amanda, you're so stylish! I love your outfit. I prefer the colored version because I really like the splash of red in it. And awesome A! But yes, really nice selfie! You look great!

I prefer color version as well probably because brick wall, your shades and little flower are nicely color coordinated. If colors were too busy, than I'd go with b&w.
